BC = Before Cataclysm PC = Post Cataclysm

In The Beginning

~25,000 BC > 22,000BC

~25,000BC

CREATION OF THE REALM OF NATHAKRA

In the depths of time, approximately 100,000 years before The Great Binding, a coalition of powerful beings from various realms—Krynn, Faerûn, Eberron, Greyhawk, and others—gathered at the Celestial Convergence. These entities—gods, titans, archmages, and elemental lords—sought a new realm where their powers could intertwine without the limitations imposed by their native worlds. At this sacred meeting point, charged with cosmic energy, they pooled their vast powers and birthed a new realm: Nathakra.

25, 000 BC > 22,000 BC

PRIMORDIAL TIMES

A time before time when great primordial beings walked Nathakra, helping shape the world the people know today. Created as instruments or weapons of the Gods themselves, these Primordial beings all but disappeared in to myth and legend.

~21,500BC

The Great Primordial War

The war raged for centuries, with the new gods unleashing their full might against their creators. The old gods, though vastly powerful, were outnumbered and overwhelmed by the relentless assault. In the end, the new gods succeeded in their rebellion. Unable to destroy their creators, they instead banished or imprisoned the old gods, sealing them away in hidden realms or locking them within the very fabric of Nathakra itself.

The Early Era

22,000 BC > 18,000 BC

22,000 BC

The Creation of the Sylvari, Khazrim and Myren

To refine this world, the gods birthed the first mortal races—primordial versions of beings that would later evolve into the Elves, Dwarves, and the modern Myren known today. These early races were infused with the essence of the natural world, each tasked with nurturing and protecting different aspects of Nathakra’s environment, from the deep forests and towering mountains to the vast oceans.

22,000 BC > 20,000 BC

The Shaping of Nathakra

Together, the Khazrim, Sylvari, and Myren worked to refine Nathakra, healing the scars left by the primordial war. The Khazrim raised towering mountain ranges, sculpted deep valleys, and shaped the earth into a form that could sustain life. The Sylvari, in turn, filled these landscapes with lush forests, flowing rivers, and vibrant ecosystems, creating a world of breathtaking beauty. The Myren, with their deep connection to the oceans, shaped the coastlines and filled the seas with life, weaving intricate coral reefs and vast underwater kingdoms that teemed with the vitality of the deep.

20,000 BC > 18,000 BC

Emergence of New Races

Next came the emergence of new races and animal life. Over the course of two millennia, animals, Minotaurs, Centaurs, Satyrs, early human life and much more flourished all across Nathakra

~18,000 BC

The Gods’ Turmoil

With Nathakra now teeming with life, the gods found themselves at a crossroads. Rather than stepping back to observe their creations in peaceful contemplation, the gods turned their attention inward, drawn into a brewing civil war among themselves. The darker deities, driven by ambition and a thirst for power, began to clash with their more benevolent counterparts, igniting a conflict that threatened to tear the divine realm apart.

Unstable Times

18,000 BC > 17,500 BC

18,000 BC

THE GREAT TIMEQUAKE

Sometime after the time of the Primordials, during the time the scholars of present day call the Unstable Time, a cataclysmic event caused the flow of time to be disrupted. It caused fractures in the temporal tapestry. The Timekeeper intervened to restore order, mending the rifts and ensuring the continuity of time across the world. Shortly after this, The Time War occurred.

There are rumors that The Circle of Gaia, a religious order. was established during this period as well and became one of, if not the, oldest religions in Nathakra. The period is known as the time of Awakening to its followers; when the spirits of the land and elements granted their blessings upon the chosen few. These individuals, touched by the raw power of nature, became the first members of the Circle and dedicated themselves to its teachings.

17,990 BC

Primordial Races Suffer Greatly

The shifting back and forth through centuries and the fracturing of the temporal fabric had profound effects on the Khazrim, Sylvari, and Myren—the primordial versions of dwarves, elves, and Myren, respectively. These ancient beings, who had once wielded great power and lived in harmony with the very essence of Nathakra, found themselves changed by the Timequake; severely diminished.

17,990 BC > 17,500 BC

The War of Time

During Eternus’ self-imposed banishment, as he struggled with the guilt and exhaustion from mending the rifts caused by the Great Timequake, another deity saw an opportunity. This dark god, whose name has been deliberately erased from history by the victors, sought to exploit Eternus’ absence and take control of time itself. With a vision twisted by ambition, the rogue deity rallied his dark allies, intent on rewriting the past, present, and future of Nathakra to serve his own ends.

This audacious act sparked the War of Time, a cosmic conflict that threatened the very fabric of existence. The rogue deity’s forces launched a relentless assault on the timeline, seeking to bend it to their will. In response, the other benevolent gods, realizing the catastrophic implications of losing control over time, rose to defend the integrity of Nathakra’s timeline. The war waged across the heavens, the underworld, and the material plane, with battles fought in dimensions unseen by mortal eyes.

The War of Time was not confined to a single front. It unfolded across all planes of existence, from the celestial heights to the darkest depths of the underworld. The very cosmos seemed to buckle under the strain of the conflict as time rippled and tore in the wake of each clash. The skies of Nathakra blazed with divine power, and the land trembled with the echoes of these titanic battles. Mortals could only watch in awe and terror as their world teetered on the brink of annihilation.

~17,500

The Aftermath & Creation of the Fates

The War of Time left an indelible scar on Nathakra. Though Eternus returned to restore order and prevent the timeline from unraveling entirely, the once-seamless flow of time was forever altered. Some regions of Nathakra still bore the echoes of the temporal disturbances—places where time flowed erratically, where the past and future occasionally bled into the present.

Eternus and Nymria create the Fates, a trio of powerful entities tasked with overseeing the timeline and the destinies of all mortal beings.

The Fates became the custodians of temporal order, weaving the threads of destiny and ensuring that the timeline remained intact. While Eternus remained in seclusion, the Fates took up the mantle of maintaining the flow of time and guiding the destinies of all who walked Nathakra.

Age of Prophecy

17,500 BC > 10,000 BC

17,500 BC > 10,000 BC

AGE OF PROPHECY

After thousands of years in isolation, Eternus, the Timekeeper, finally re-emerged during what would later be known as the Age of Prophecies. Though he was never quite the same, the scars of the Great Timequake and the War of Time had left him diminished—no longer able to control time outright, but still capable of influencing its flow.

In this era, Eternus sought the counsel of Aetherion, the Stargazer, a deity with an unparalleled understanding of the cosmos and the delicate threads of destiny. Together, they delved into the mysteries of time, hoping to understand and guide its flow without imposing their will upon it.

Realizing that time had become too unpredictable to be controlled with absolute certainty, they conceived a new approach: crafting prophecies. These prophecies, intricate and profound, were meant to offer glimpses into possible futures, guiding the actions of gods and mortals alike. However, Eternus understood that mortals possessed free will, and therefore, prophecies could never be guarantees—they were possibilities, not certainties.

The Era of Withdrawl

10,000 BC > 2,000 BC

10,000 BC

The Severance of Divine Power

Following the catastrophic events of the Great Timequake and the War of Time, Nathakra entered an era defined by profound uncertainty and change. The gods, once active forces in the world, abruptly withdrew not only from mortal affairs but also from all contact with their champions, mortal agents, and demigods. Even divine visions, blessings, and the whisper of prayers fell into silence.

As the gods withdrew, anything that relied on divine power was stunted or disappeared entirely. Paladins, once imbued with celestial might, found their radiant powers extinguished. Clerics who had drawn their strength from divine blessings became ordinary mortals overnight. Temples that had once thrummed with holy energy became cold and hollow places, their rituals rendered meaningless.

10,000 BC > 2,000 BC

Mortal Struggles and Resilience

Stripped of divine aid and diminished in magical prowess, the mortal races faced unprecedented challenges. Diseases once cured by divine magic spread unchecked. Crops failed without the blessings of the harvest gods. Wars, previously fought with the assistance of radiant champions, now became grueling battles of attrition fought solely by mortal hands.

The dwarves and elves, shadows of their former selves, clung to the remnants of their once-great legacies. Stripped of the divine bonds and arcane mastery that had defined their civilizations for millennia, they withdrew to their ancient strongholds, struggling to maintain their traditions and defend against the encroaching darkness.

Even the natural world felt the imbalance. Once-stable magical nexuses grew erratic, and strange anomalies began to manifest across Nathakra. The void left by the gods’ absence was a curse—but also a strange catalyst. Devoid of divine crutches, the mortal races discovered new paths, forged alliances, and built civilizations on foundations of their own making.

Age of Despair

2000 BC > 0 BC

2000 BC

Age of Despair

The Age of Despair began when Malachi, the Harbinger of Shadows, and Lord of the Underworld, sensed the perfect moment to unleash his dark ambitions. For millennia, he bided his time, observing as the gods gradually lowered their defenses, lulled into a false sense of security by the peace that had settled over Nathakra. The gods believed their realm was secure, their creations flourishing, and their power unchallenged. But Malachi, ever patient and calculating, had other plans.

When the time was right, he struck with a force that shook the very foundations of Nathakra. Malachi unleashed the Cataclysm, a catastrophic event that tore asunder the boundaries between the mortal world and the underworld. This dark rupture allowed the horrors of Malachi’s realm to spill into the material plane, bringing death, despair, and destruction to all who lived there.

2000 BC

THE CATACLYSM

The war that followed was relentless, spanning two thousand years. Good and evil clashed in a titanic struggle, with neither side able to claim decisive victory for long. The forces of light, led by the remaining demi-gods and their mortal champions, fought valiantly to push back the tide of darkness. However, Malachi’s legions, fueled by the essence of the underworld, were equally determined to conquer and corrupt all of Nathakra.

During this time, Malachi created the Vaaku, a twisted and malevolent race bred for destruction. Alongside the Vaaku, other dark minions of the Underworld spilled forth into the material plane, forever altering Nathakra’s landscape. Undead, demons, devils, gorgons, and other fiendish creatures became a permanent fixture in the world, their presence a constant reminder of the Cataclysm that had torn apart the fabric of reality.

800 BC

RISE OF THE SOLAR COUNCIL

A council of high priests and priestesses, known as the Solar Council, and their military force, The Celestial Guard, is established to govern the religious affairs of the Pantheon of Hieros. They oversee rituals, interpret divine signs, and guide the faithful in matters of faith and doctrine. They help push back the darkness and keep it from completely overtaking the realm.

500 BC > 421 BC

THE GREAT BLIGHT

Nathakra faced a dire crisis when a dark force known as the Great Blight threatened to engulf the land, corrupting its flora, fauna, and natural balance. After almost 80 years of suffering during an already troubling time, The Circle of Gaia lead a valiant campaign against the Blight, rallying druids and nature magic practitioners from all corners of the world. Through their combined efforts, the Great Blight was defeated and the land was restored to its former splendor.

500 BC

The Founding of Theos (Early Village Phase)

This event is known as The Great Binding and marked the end of the Age of Despair and the beginning of not only a new Age, but a new Era all together. Any event that came after this date is now considered PC (Post Cataclysm).
