The First Age – The Age of Creation

~25,000 BC > ~18,000BC

~25,000BC

The Birth of Nathakra

In the depths of eternity, long before the rise of kingdoms or the passing of mortal ages, the Old Gods gathered at the Celestial Convergence. Drawn together from across the infinite cosmos, these primordial beings united their immeasurable power to create a new realm unlike any that had come before. From their combined will, Nathakra was born, along with the Archons, the New Gods, and the unbreakable Law of Divine Equilibrium.

~24,900 BC

The Fey Nexus Awakens

Beyond the Material Plane, the four Elemental Planes converged around the Fey Nexus, a timeless realm where fire, water, earth, and air existed in perfect harmony. From this convergence, leylines carried elemental and natural magic throughout Nathakra, giving life to forests, mountains, rivers, and seas.

~24,800 BC

The First Archons

To preserve the delicate balance of their new creation, the Old Gods created the Archons. Neither gods nor mortals, these eternal stewards became the impartial custodians of Nathakra’s balance, forever bound to the world they were created to protect.

~24,700 BC

The Birth of the New Gods

Recognizing that Nathakra would require guardians capable of guiding its many peoples and realms, the Old Gods brought forth a new generation of divine beings. Though mighty, these Gods remained subject to the Law of Divine Equilibrium established at creation.

~24,500 BC

The First Golden Era Begins

With creation complete, Nathakra entered its first great age of peace. The Gods, Archons, and the primal forces of the Fey Nexus existed in harmony as the world prepared for the arrival of its first civilizations.

The Khazrim became the first great mortal civilization. Immortal and deeply connected to stone, metal, and the enduring strength of the earth, they established magnificent underground kingdoms whose craftsmanship would become legendary.

The First Sylvari

The immortal Sylvari emerged soon after, forming great forest civilizations bound closely to the Fey Nexus. Their mastery of nature, harmony, and elemental magic shaped much of Nathakra’s earliest wilderness.

The First Myren

Beneath Nathakra’s oceans, the Myren established vast underwater kingdoms. Their wisdom, artistry, and knowledge of the seas would preserve countless histories long forgotten by those who dwelt upon the surface.

~23,500 BC

The First Great Civilizations

The Khazrim, Sylvari, and Myren flourished together during an unprecedented era of cooperation. Trade, scholarship, and magical understanding expanded rapidly, while the Gods watched proudly over their growing world.

~23,000 BC

The Flourishing of Life

The Gods filled Nathakra with countless forms of life. Great beasts roamed the plains, Moonwings soared through the skies, Deepwings claimed the oceans, Thalanor wandered the ancient forests, and countless other creatures found their place within the world’s delicate balance.

~22,000 BC

The First Great Primordial War

The New Gods rebelled against their creators, believing Nathakra should be theirs alone to rule. Unable to destroy the Old Gods, they instead banished or imprisoned them. Though victorious, they discovered the Law of Divine Equilibrium could neither be broken nor undone.

22,000 BC

The Era of Harmony

With the Primordial War ended, the New Gods assumed stewardship of Nathakra while the Archons continued their eternal vigil. Though forever marked by divine conflict, the world entered another long era of peace, growth, and discovery.

~18,000 BC

The Great Timequake

Without warning, time itself fractured. Reality trembled as the Great Timequake forever altered Nathakra. The immortal First Races lost their eternal lives, the world entered the Dawn of the Mortal Age, and even Eternus, steward of time, would never fully recover from the catastrophe.

The Second Age – The Age Of Destiny

~18,000 BC > 2,000 BC

~18000 BC

The Underworld Established

In the aftermath of the Great Timequake, death entered creation for the first time. To preserve the natural cycle of life, death, and rebirth, the Pantheon established the Underworld as the eternal resting place for mortal souls. Vast beyond mortal comprehension, the realm was created not as a place of punishment, but as a sacred domain where every soul would await its final judgment.

Malachi, one of the New Gods, was entrusted with overseeing the Underworld and guiding the spirits of the dead. For countless ages he fulfilled this solemn duty with unwavering devotion, maintaining the delicate balance between life and death. Only much later would his heart be consumed by pride and ambition, setting him upon the path that would one day plunge Nathakra into the Age of Despair.

~17,950 BC

The Growing Divide

Though peace endured, the Gods themselves became increasingly divided by competing philosophies. Their followers mirrored these divisions, creating rival kingdoms, conflicting ideologies, and growing political unrest across Nathakra.

~4,000 BC

The Rise of Forbidden Cults

As the divisions between the philosophies of Light and Shadow deepened, secret societies devoted to forbidden knowledge and darker teachings began to appear across Nathakra. 0 PC

The Great Binding

With all hope nearly exhausted, the Archons made the ultimate sacrifice. One by one, Archonis’ brothers and sisters gave their very essence to seal the great breach between the Material Plane and the Underworld. The Cataclysm was finally halted, though at an unimaginable cost. Of the Archons, only Archonis remained, the last steward of Nathakra.

0 PC
